SmulSkulz 15 continues the SmulSkulz collection’s exploration of impermanence and materiality. Through the pairing of a handcrafted mosaic and a digitally decaying animation, this piece examines the relationship between permanence and ephemerality, offering collectors a thought-provoking artifact of digital decay made tangible.

Physical Mosaic

  • Materials: 3,204 semi-transparent acrylic tiles adhered to canvas.

  • Dimensions: 4.5 x 6.5 inches, mounted on an 8.5 x 11-inch acid-free backing board. The piece is signed by the artist, is ready for display, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

  • Uniqueness: Each mosaic is a one-of-a-kind creation. It captures a single animation frame before digital decay occurs, transforming the untouched digital image into a tangible artifact.

Digital Animation

  • Description: The animation unfolds over 90 seconds, employing glitch techniques to simulate the progressive decay of digital data. Hand-drawn 'boiled' linework adds a human element, enriching the narrative of impermanence.

  • Exclusivity: The full-resolution (2000 x 2000), unwatermarked animation is exclusive to the NFT owner. A shorter, watermarked preview is available for public viewing.

Availability

  • Release Date: SmulSkulz 15 will be available in Wave 2, launching on March 25, 2025.

  • Reservation: Pre-release reservations are now open. Interested collectors are encouraged to contact the artist directly to secure this piece, with availability on a first-come, first-served basis.
