SmulSkulz 3 expands the SmulSkulz collection’s narrative, reflecting on impermanence, transformation, and the interplay between digital and physical artistry. Like its predecessors, it pairs a handcrafted mosaic with a dynamic digital animation, offering a singular perspective on art’s evolving materiality.
Physical Mosaic
Materials: Crafted from 3,204 semi-transparent acrylic tiles, the mosaic mimics the structure of pixels while evoking the charm of early 8-bit computer graphics.
Dimensions: Measuring 4.5 x 6.5 inches, the piece is mounted on an acid-free backing board (8.5 x 11 inches) and signed by the artist for authenticity.
Uniqueness: SmulSkulz 3 captures a pivotal frame from its paired animation, frozen in time before digital decay begins. This pristine moment is transformed into a tactile, enduring artifact.
Digital Animation
Description: The animation unfolds over 90 seconds, employing glitch techniques to simulate the progressive decay of digital data. Hand-drawn 'boiled' linework adds a human element, enriching the narrative of impermanence.
Exclusivity: The full-resolution (2000 x 2000), unwatermarked animation is exclusive to the NFT owner. A shorter, watermarked preview is available for public viewing.
Availability
Release Date: SmulSkulz 3 will be available during Wave 1 of the collection launch on February 25, 2025.
Reservation: Interested collectors can reserve SmulSkulz 3 prior to its release by contacting the artist. Reservations are limited and handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
