Conceived in 2022 and realized in 2023, Acid Mauve is the fifth piece in the Ecstasis series. Rounded shapes and globular forms digitally decay and fade, briefly revealing the figure’s face in a fleeting moment of clarity before receding into the colourful chaos. This piece boasts a pixelated and painterly feel, featuring undulating blooms of colour that flutter and coalesce. At the same time, crisp pixels blink in and out, reminiscent of scratches on a film reel.

The ambient soundscape accompanying Acid Mauve was composed by Stephen Ramsay of Young Galaxy from Montreal, Canada. Young Galaxy was short-listed for the prestigious Polaris Prize and has released six records. His versatile collaborations span digital art, NFT projects like Kriller, and soundtracks for film and television.
