ecstasis
Springing forth from an undulating, gooey mass at the resonant sound of the gong, Purple Ecstasis emerges as a super psychedelic experience—a promise reflected in its otherworldly soundscape. Originally named Ketamean-Dream, this piece exudes a distinctly transdimensional feel, featuring peeling and liquid layers that shape the visual journey. The maximal style distortions are achieved through multi-layering, datamoshing, and displacement, pushing the boundaries of the composition. Purple Ecstasis proudly takes its place as the sixth installment in the series.
The soundscape was composed by Andrew Macdonald of Koolam. Based in Toronto, Canada, Koolam has shared the stage with luminaries such as Todd Terry and Diplo. From performances at SXSW to Bass Coast and Shambhala, he seamlessly blends ambient, electronic, and world music elements, transporting audiences to new dimensions.
